12V recovery winch with 12,500lb rated first-layer line pull, 26m of steel wire rope and a roller fairlead. Features IP68 protection, an automatic gearbox brake and a wired handheld remote. Free UK delivery.

The Novawinch PRO12500 PRO PLUS delivers 12,500lb (5,670kg) of rated first-layer line pull for recovery and vehicle loading. Suitable for correctly equipped 4x4s, recovery vehicles and trailers, it comes with 26m of 9.5mm steel wire rope, a roller fairlead and a waterproof wired handheld remote.
Its 12V series-wound motor works through two-stage spur and two-stage planetary gearing. An automatic brake inside the gearbox holds the load when winching stops, while the free-spool clutch allows you to pull out rope when setting up a recovery.
On the first rope layer, the PRO12500 retrieves unloaded rope at 15m/min. At its full rated pull of 12,500lb, line speed is 1m/min. This provides quick unloaded retrieval alongside slower, controlled movement under heavy load.
The rotating ring-gear clutch is operated by a 90-degree turn lever. The supplied wired remote lets you control the winch through a direct cable connection from a suitable operating position.
The 26m steel wire rope runs through a roller fairlead, which guides it towards the drum. Inspect the rope for broken wires, kinks and other damage before each use, and wear suitable gloves when handling it.
If you are comparing rope options, our synthetic rope versus steel cable guide explains their handling and maintenance differences. The PRO12500 with synthetic rope is also available.
The winch measures 608mm long × 180mm wide × 238mm high and uses a 254mm × 114mm mounting bolt pattern. Check the strength of the mounting structure, available clearance and fairlead position before installation.
Current draw is 50A with no load and 390A at full rated first-layer pull. Your installation needs a suitable 12V battery supply, correctly sized cables and secure electrical connections. Follow the supplied instructions for installation, operating periods and cooling between demanding pulls.
The 12,500lb rating describes pulling force, not a maximum vehicle weight. Recovery resistance depends on factors including the slope, ground conditions and whether the vehicle can roll. Available line pull decreases as additional rope layers build up on the drum.
Read our guide to winch line pull and drum layers for more detail. If you are specifying a recovery vehicle, our recovery truck winch sizing guide explains the main considerations.
This winch is intended for pulling and recovery, not overhead lifting. Use suitable independent restraints to secure vehicles during transport.
