Winch Mounting Plates & Mounts

A winch mounting plate (also called a winch plate) gives a solid fixing point for a bumper, tray or body-mounted winch. Our range of winch mounting plates and winch mounts is for 4x4 and commercial recovery setups where the winch needs a correctly rated, correctly drilled mounting surface.

Plates are typically heavy-gauge steel and pre-drilled for common winch bolt patterns. Always confirm hole centres, plate thickness and rated capacity against your winch before ordering, “universal” does not mean every plate fits every winch.

Choosing a Winch Mounting Plate

  • Bolt pattern: match the plate holes to your winch footprint.
  • Winch size and weight: the mount must suit the winch and the loads it will see in use.
  • Mounting location: bumper, winch tray, recovery body or trailer bed, each needs a structure strong enough for winching forces.
  • Fairlead clearance: leave room for the fairlead, rope path and clutch access.
  • Cable routing: plan power and control cable runs before you weld or bolt the plate in place.

Fitting Notes

The plate is only as strong as what it is fixed to. Mount to a properly designed bumper, tray or chassis structure rated for recovery loads. Use the correct grade of bolts and follow the winch and vehicle manufacturer’s guidance.
