ATV & UTV Electric Winches

The general rule is to multiply your vehicle's fully loaded weight (including rider, fuel, and gear) by 1.5. For most standard ATVs and quad bikes, a 2,500lb to 3,500lb winch is perfect. For larger, heavier UTVs and side-by-sides (like a Polaris RZR or Can-Am Defender), you should look at a 4,000lb to 5,000lb capacity winch.

Our ATV winches utilise industry-standard powersports mounting bolt patterns (such as the standard 4-hole powersports pattern). To install it on your specific vehicle, you will typically need a model-specific winch mounting plate designed for your exact make and model of ATV/UTV.

For powersports, we highly recommend synthetic rope. It is significantly lighter (which helps maintain your ATV's suspension balance), it won't rust if you frequently ride through water, and it won't develop sharp burrs that can cut your hands. Steel cable is generally only recommended if you are using your quad primarily for heavy farm utility work where the line will constantly drag across abrasive rocks and logs.

Yes, our ATV winches come complete with the necessary heavy-gauge wiring, a sealed contactor/solenoid, and a handlebar-mounted rocker switch. Everything you need to route power from your ATV's 12V battery to the winch is included in the box.

ATV and UTV stators (the powersports equivalent of an alternator) are smaller than car alternators. While winching, it is important to keep your quad's engine revving slightly to help generate power and maintain battery voltage. For long, heavy pulls, it is good practice to winch in short bursts to let the battery recover.
