12V recovery winch with 12,500lb rated first-layer line pull, 26m of synthetic rope and an aluminium hawse fairlead. Features IP68 protection, an automatic gearbox brake and a wired handheld remote. Free UK delivery.

The Novawinch PRO12500 PRO PLUS delivers 12,500lb (5,670kg) of rated first-layer line pull, with synthetic rope for easier handling during recovery. Suitable for correctly equipped 4x4s, recovery vehicles and trailers, this 12V electric winch comes with 26m of 9.5mm synthetic rope, an aluminium hawse fairlead and a waterproof wired handheld remote.
Its series-wound motor drives two-stage spur and two-stage planetary gearing. The automatic brake sits inside the gearbox, away from the rope drum, helping reduce the rope's exposure to braking heat.
Synthetic rope is lighter and more flexible to handle than comparable steel wire rope, making it easier to carry out to an anchor point and arrange for a pull. The aluminium hawse fairlead provides a smooth guiding surface as the rope enters the drum.
Inspect the rope before each use and protect it from sharp edges, abrasive surfaces and heat. Our synthetic rope versus steel cable guide explains the practical differences in handling and maintenance.
On the first rope layer, the PRO12500 retrieves unloaded rope at 15m/min. At its full rated pull of 12,500lb, line speed is 1m/min, providing slower movement under heavy load.
The rotating ring-gear clutch uses a 90-degree turn lever, allowing you to free-spool the rope when setting up a recovery. The supplied handheld remote connects directly to the winch through its 3.9m cable.
The winch measures 608mm long × 180mm wide × 238mm high and uses a 254mm × 114mm mounting bolt pattern. Check the available space, mounting structure and fairlead position before installation.
Current draw is 50A with no load and 390A at full rated first-layer pull. Use a suitable 12V battery supply, correctly sized cables and secure electrical connections. Follow the supplied instructions for installation, operating periods and cooling between demanding pulls.
The 12,500lb rating describes pulling force, not a maximum vehicle weight. Recovery resistance depends on the gradient, ground conditions and whether the vehicle can roll. Available line pull also decreases as additional rope layers build up on the drum.
Our guide to winch line pull and drum layers explains how this affects performance. If steel cable better suits your application, see the PRO12500 PRO PLUS with steel wire rope.
This winch is intended for pulling and recovery, not overhead lifting. Use suitable independent restraints to secure vehicles during transport.
