PRO12500 PRO PLUS 24V Recovery Winch with Steel Wire Rope

The Novawinch PRO12500 PRO PLUS is a 24V electric winch for recovery vehicles, flatbed trailers and other compatible commercial installations. It delivers 12,500lb (5,670kg) of rated line pull on the first rope layer and comes with 26m of 9.5mm steel wire rope, a stainless-steel roller fairlead and a waterproof wired handheld remote.

Its 24V series-wound motor drives two-stage spur and two-stage planetary gearing. An automatic brake inside the gearbox holds the load when winching stops, while the rotating ring-gear clutch allows the rope to be pulled out manually when preparing a recovery.

Steel Wire Rope for Recovery and Vehicle Loading

The supplied steel wire rope provides good resistance to abrasion during recovery and loading work. Its four-way roller fairlead guides the rope towards the drum when the direction of pull changes.

24V Performance and Control

On the first rope layer, the PRO12500 retrieves unloaded rope at 15m/min while drawing 30A. At the full rated pull of 12,500lb, line speed is approximately 1m/min and current draw is 260A.

The rotating ring-gear clutch uses a 90-degree turn lever for free-spooling. The waterproof handheld remote connects directly to the winch through its 3.9m cable.

Mounting and Electrical Requirements

The winch measures 608mm long × 180mm wide × 238mm high and uses a 254mm × 114mm mounting bolt pattern. Check the available space, mounting structure and fairlead position before installation.

The installation requires a suitable 24V battery supply, correctly sized cables and secure electrical connections. Follow the supplied instructions for wiring, operating periods and cooling between demanding pulls.

Choosing the Correct Winch Capacity

The 12,500lb rating describes pulling force on the first rope layer, rather than a maximum vehicle weight. Recovery resistance depends on the gradient, ground conditions and whether the vehicle can roll. Available line pull decreases as additional rope layers build up on the drum.
