PRO12500 PRO PLUS 24V Recovery Winch with Synthetic Rope

The Novawinch PRO12500 PRO PLUS is a 24V electric winch with 12,500lb (5,670kg) of rated line pull on the first rope layer. It is designed for suitably equipped recovery vehicles, 4x4s and trailers, and comes with 26m of 9.5mm synthetic rope, an aluminium hawse fairlead and a waterproof wired handheld remote.

A 24V series-wound motor drives two-stage spur and two-stage planetary gearing. The automatic brake sits inside the gearbox, away from the rope drum, helping reduce the rope's exposure to braking heat.

Key Features

Synthetic Rope and Hawse Fairlead

Synthetic rope is lighter and more flexible to handle than comparable steel wire rope. The aluminium hawse fairlead guides the rope towards the drum. Inspect the rope before use and protect it from sharp edges, abrasion and heat.

Performance and Electrical Requirements

On the first rope layer, line speed is 15m/min with no load. At the full rated pull of 12,500lb, it is 1m/min, with a current draw of 260A. The winch requires a suitable 24V supply, correctly sized cables and secure electrical connections. Follow the supplied instructions for installation, operating periods and cooling between demanding pulls.

Mounting and Application

The winch measures 608mm long × 180mm wide × 238mm high and uses a 254mm × 114mm mounting bolt pattern. Check the available space, mounting structure and fairlead position before installation.

The 12,500lb rating describes pulling force, not a maximum vehicle weight. Recovery resistance depends on the gradient, ground conditions and whether the vehicle can roll. This winch is intended for pulling and recovery, not overhead lifting. Use suitable independent restraints to secure vehicles during transport.
