GRT10000 10,000lb EN-Rated Hydraulic Recovery Winch

The Novawinch GRT10000, previously known as the HEN10000, is an EN-rated hydraulic recovery winch developed for professional vehicle recovery, transport, industrial and specialist trailer applications. It provides 10,000lb (4,536kg / approximately 4.5 tonnes) of rated line pull on the first rope layer and is supplied with 30m of 10.3mm steel wire rope.

Its multi-disc brake, dual-balance valve system, hardened planetary gearing and IP67 protection make the GRT10000 suitable for demanding installations where dependable pulling performance and controlled load handling are essential.

Key Features

Professional Hydraulic Pulling Performance

The GRT10000 combines a 10,000lb first-layer line pull with a first-layer line speed of 21.3ft/min (6.5m/min). It operates at a working pressure differential of 14MPa (2,030psi) with an oil flow of 55L/min, providing controlled pulling performance for recovery trucks, fire and rescue vehicles, low-loaders, industrial trailers, agricultural machinery and compatible plant equipment.

Available line pull reduces as additional rope layers build up on the drum, while line speed increases. Winch capacity should therefore be assessed using the layer-specific performance figures rather than the headline first-layer rating alone.

Multi-Disc Brake and Dual-Balance Valves

An automatic multi-disc brake helps hold the load when winching stops. The integrated dual-balance valve system supports controlled motor direction and dependable braking, while the hardened planetary gear train is designed for strength and long service life.

The structure is tested beyond its rated pulling capacity, and two rope-mounting holes provide a secure connection between the steel wire rope and drum.

30m Steel Wire Rope and Manual Clutch

This version is supplied with 30m of 10.3mm steel wire rope. Steel rope provides strong abrasion resistance for commercial recovery and industrial environments, while the four-layer drum provides a total rope capacity of 98.4ft (30m).

A manual clutch is fitted as standard. A pneumatic clutch, rope tensioner, recovery hook and roller fairlead may be available separately where required for the installation.

Hydraulic System Requirements

The GRT10000 requires a compatible hydraulic power supply capable of providing the specified oil flow and working pressure. All hoses, fittings, valves, filtration and mounting components must be correctly rated for the system.

An independent hydraulic oil supply incorporating a suitable relief valve is recommended. The winch must not be connected to a hydraulic system without correctly specified pressure relief. Read our guide to electric and hydraulic recovery winches if you are comparing the two power systems.

Installation and Safety

Check the mounting structure, bolt pattern, rope path and hydraulic connections before installation. The mounting surface must be capable of supporting the forces generated during operation.

This is a pulling winch and must not be used to lift people or suspend loads above people. Never operate the clutch while the rope is under load. Installation and operation should follow the supplied technical documentation.
