The KXE12000 is built for operators who want the holding power of a worm drive with the flexibility of electric. 12V/24V, 7.4 hp (5.5 kW) series-wound motor and 581:1 worm gear ratio deliver strong, controlled pulls. Ideal for recovery trucks and flat-bed trailers where reliability and load-holding matter.

Worm Gear Drive & Mechanical Braking

The worm gear / wheel drive gives natural braking and secure load-holding. Mechanical, automatic lock braking adds safety. Copper alloy worm gear wheel is specified for abrasion resistance and high torque. Tapered bearings help keep alignment for smooth, long-lasting operation.

Modular Design & Cable

Modular design allows easier access for maintenance and repairs. Recommended cable: 13/32" x 68.9' (10.3mm x 21m), min breaking strength 102 kN. Drum 3.7" x 7.8" (93mm x 200mm). Weight 121.3 lb (55 kg) without cable.

A worm gear winch uses a worm and worm wheel to drive the drum. This design provides natural braking and strong load-holding because the gear set does not back-drive under load. The KXE12000 and KXH9000 uses this principle for reliable, safe operation in recovery and industrial use.

The KXE12000’s worm gear drive gives strong load-holding, which is suitable for controlled vertical or incline pulls when used within its rated capacity and with correct rigging. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions and ensure the winch is correctly mounted and wired for your application.

The KXE12000 works on either 12V or 24V. One winch, two voltage options, wire it for the system your vehicle has. Performance (line speed and motor current) differs by voltage; check the product spec table for 12V and 24V figures.

Worm gear winches (like the KXE12000) have built-in load-holding and natural braking from the worm-and-wheel design. Planetary winches are often lighter and faster but rely on a separate brake for load-holding. The KXE12000 and KXH9000 is built for applications where holding power and reliability are the priority.
